After a busy few weeks, February quickly comes to a close. We had both a colour belt grading and competition within a week of each other, bringing with it a very busy few weeks of training for everyone. Well done to those who took part in either events (or both!).

February's Round-up:

Colour Belt Grading: Well done to all 14 students who graded & passed early last month. We had little time to prepare, but everyone put in the extra training hours be ready on time. A special mention to Laila who won the grading award!

South-West Championships: The club took 10 competitors and brought home 13 medals, which was an incredible achievement! It was a great local(ish) competition to kick start the year, so well done to everyone who took part.

Upcoming Events:

English Championships (Saturday 23rd of March): this is the first national event in our competitive calendar and will be held in Worcester University.

Black Belt Pre-Grading (Sunday 24th of March): we have three students who will be pre-grading in Malmesbury - Mr McClaughlin, Mr Laye and Joel Bijo. Please take the time to wish them luck when you see them in training.

Spring Social: as mentioned in the WhatsApp groups, we are looking at organising an evening of bowling at Tenpin down on the Quay. We are hoping that it will be either the Friday the 5th or 12th of April, so please ensure that you have voted for your preferred date so we can begin to get an idea of numbers. It’ll be lovely to see everyone together for an evening of fun.

Notice: Change of Venue

**Please note that on both Wednesday the 13th and 20th of March, the usual 6-7pm sessions at West Exe will be in the dance studio at St Luke’s School. This is due to exams being held at West Exe during this time. We will send out reminders via WhatsApp closer to the time.**

A few exciting things…

There are a some exciting projects happening behind the scenes, so keep your eyes peeled for any notifications. We are in the process of designing a new website, training kit and new club doboks. We are also going to be doing some more social media promoting, so please help the club to like, comment and share on anything you see!
