January 2024 Newsletter

Exeter and Exmouth TAGB Tae Kwon Do

Hi,

January 2024 Newsletter

Hi all

Firstly and most importantly, I would like to wish each of you a very Happy New Year. I hope it is happy, healthy and successful for all of you.

It will be a busy start to the year with competitions and gradings at the beginning of February. It would be great to see you all in the Dojang as soon as possible.

A few bits of important information.

South West Championships

First up, our first competition of the year. Even though its around the corner, this is a competition that I would highly recommend for you all. It is a fab comp to enter as your first ever competition and equally a great local competition to start the year with an early goal for seasoned competitors.
The event takes place on Sunday 4th February in Weston Super Mare and starts at 9:30 for juniors and 11am for adults.

I need your entries confirmed by 2 weeks today… ie Wednesday 17th January!

If you would like to enter, please fill in this online form. - CLICK HERE

Full details and competition pack can be found here- CLICK HERE

February Colour Belt Grading

As mentioned towards the end of last year in class, the February grading can be a real challenge to get ready for. It is a shorter gap than usual and the Christmas break further reduces preparation time. If you would like to grade in February, it really is imperative to train a little extra in January.
Failing that, there is absolutely no harm at all in waiting. The May grading will be here in no time.

The Colour Belt grading will take place on Sunday 11th February in Cranbrook and start at 9:30

The Colour Belt pre grading will take place on Monday 5th February at St Lukes at 6pm

2023 awards winners

A massive well done to the award winners at the 2023 Christmas Party. Also a massive thank you to those who came. It was a fantastic evening.

A recap of the deserving award winners as follows…

Tiger of the year - Erin Stuart
Junior student’s student of the year - Pablo Verdiguier
Adult students student of the year - Matt Roberts
Exmouth student’s student of the year - Gemma Thomas-Green
Competitor of the year - Laila Middleton
Instructors student of the year - Tim Darrie-Laye

All that remains is to say one last thank you to all those black belts who helped in 2023, to the parents for supporting the junior students and to each of you for working so hard and being part of our Tae Kwon Do Family.

Let’s do it all again in even bigger and better in 2024 as we Keep Moving forwards once more…
